REVOLVO'S SRB SPLIT ROLLER BEARINGS
PROVE THEIR RELIABILITY BY TAKING 100 DEGREE HEAT FOR 3 YEARS IN DRYING
CYLINDERS AT LOTHLORIEN PAPER MILL
Revolvo's split roller bearings use specially
profiled rolling elements to minimise damaging edge stresses that can
occur under conditions of dynamic misalignment. Installed more than three
years ago, and operating in ambient temperatures constantly exceeding
100 degrees Celsius, Revolvo SRB split roller bearings have now been deemed
to have 'successfully' replaced the original bronze-bush bearings on the
drying cylinders at Lothlorien's Pty Ltd paper mill - a leading South
African manufacturer of tissue paper from recycled fibres.

ANGLO PLATINUM TURNS TO REVOLVO SPLIT
ROLLER BEARINGS TO REDUCE INSTALLATION & DOWNTIME FROM 8 HOURS TO
JUST 1 HOUR
The ability of Revolvo's range of SRB
split roller bearings to provide safeguards against the crippling costs
of downtime in continuous production environments was demonstrated recently
at the Anglo Platinum Mine in South Africa. The SRB split roller bearings
are replacing solid bearings on vent fans at a number of mines owned by
Anglo Platinum. The fans are crucial to production, and with downtime
costs estimated at between R10,000 and R500,000 per hour, the ability
of the SRB split roller bearing to be installed in about one hour, compared
to eight for a solid bearing, meant that these costs were minimised.

SPECIAL REVOLVO BEARING ASSEMBLY HELPS
SAFEGUARD 130 YEARS OF BREWING EXCELLENCE FOR BLACK COUNTRY BREWER, BATHAMS
Revolvo's special bearing service came
to the rescue recently, helping to safeguard nearly five generations of
brewing excellence at Bathams, a renowned Black Country brewer in the
West Midlands. At extremely short notice between brewing cycles, Revolvo
manufactured a special assembly for a Sparger arm, which is critical to
the brewing process. The assembly comprises of a stainless steel threaded
pipe with a special thrust bearing at one end. The bearing is a hybrid
solution and utilises silicon nitride balls, of the type used on Formula
1 cars, to handle hot water contamination without suffering from corrosion.

REVOLVO ENSURES NOVELIS MEETS MAJOR
MILL UPGRADE DEADLINE, CUTTING 18-24 MONTH DELIVERIES FOR LARGE BEARINGS
BY OVER 50%
Revolvo Ltd has enabled Novelis to meet
its deadline to complete a major aluminium mill refurbishment project
in South Wales. The project was initially under threat, due to extended
18-24 month deliveries from major bearing manufacturers for large, 960mm
(OD) cylindrical roller bearings. Employing its specialist design and
manufacturing facilities, Revolvo was able to cut the best-case 18-month
delivery time by more than 50%, and deliver the bearings in just 8 months.

REPLACEMENT SRB SPLIT BEARING KEEPS
THE ROOF ON AT IBSTOCK BRICK.
SRB Split Plummer Block mounted bearings
has emphatically proved the point of the new designs by ensuring that
one of the two central brick production lines at Ibstock Brick was kept
in operation cost effectively. Using the split design as a direct replacement
for a failed conventional interference fit SN housed bearing, SRBs demonstrated
a huge saving in terms of time and cost of replacement. Engineers took
just three hours to complete the replacement whereas the alternative of
replacing the original like-for-like would have taken 3-4 working days
and required a crane to remove part of the factory roof.

REVOLVO'S SRB BEARINGS OPERATE UNDER
WATER IN ABRASIVE SOLUTION AT AMBIENT TEMPERATURES UP TO 40OC ON ZAMBEZI
RAPID WATER RIDE
Operating under water, in an abrasive
solution, and at ambient temperatures up to 400C, Revolvo's SRB split
roller bearings are providing a reliable solution to the problem of support
for the twin 11-metre long Archimedes ascender screws that deliver water
to the massive Zambezi Rapid Water ride in the Gold Reef City theme park,
Johannesburg, RSA.

WATER TREATMENT PLANT SET TO SAVE £THOUSANDS
IN MAINTENANCE COSTS BY CHANGING FROM SOLID TO SPLIT ROLLER BEARINGS.
United Utilities’ Water Treatment
Plant at Widnes is set to save many thousands of pounds in ongoing maintenance
costs as a result of replacing solid bearings with SRB split roller bearings
from Revolvo. The SRB split bearings allow easy maintenance without having
to remove the shafts of long horizontal rotors that agitate sewage and
introduce oxygen to the treatment process. Previously a crane with an
80ft reach was required to completely remove the solid support bearings,
at a cost in excess of £2500 per day
